Apr 5, 2008 · I have a Caroni TM1900 flail that I really like. I had previously used both bush hogs and rotary finish mowers. The flail cuts pretty close to the finish mower in quality but is more like the bush hog in its ability to cut rough stuff. I like the short projection off the rear of the tractor and the quiet (especially compared to the bush hog).

Then, using a piece of wood, gently pry up the support just enough to easily push the belt between the housing and pulley. (Or you can just remove all 4 bolts.)
Over time much of it will become orchard or managed vegetable garden, but that will take years and even then I'll be mowing around the rows and edges. I've used both a light duty rotary cutter and a Caroni TM-1900 flail mower before, on a different but somewhat similar farm. Not surprisingly, I liked the Caroni flail better!

Was mowing the field area of my property after work Friday about dark 30 when I heard the sound of the finish mower change tone. Looked back and all seemed OK, noticed one of the belts was a little looser than the other.

I bought the mower for maintenance of 4 acres of prairie planting and mowing some trails. I went with the 47" mower to keep it compact. I'll use it in the woods and on trails.
